From Blog to Book with Betty Herbert

February Scanners Night is all about blogs and books - and how the first can lead to the second. Our guest speaker is the wonderful Betty Herbert, author of The 52 Seductions.

Betty had an idea one day - to reignite the passion in her marriage after more than a decade with her husband by setting a challenge: to spend a whole year seducing each other, taking it in turns to come up with a steamy new scenario each week.

Betty immediately started a blog (anonymously) and began writing about her challenge. And then realised she should probably tell her husband about her idea! (Fortunately he was up for the challenge too.)

Within a few months of blogging about the seductions, Betty was approached by agents and publishers.

She eventually signed a book deal with Headline and the book was published last year to rave reviews.

I interviewed Betty recently and she has a huge amount to teach about how to write a winning blog, how to attract attention and keep it, and how to turn your blog into a book.
