Scanners Night is the monthly London event for creative people, entrepreneurs, and of course Scanners run by best-selling author John Williams.
Scanners are creative people with multiple interests and lots of ideas. Our biggest challenge is deciding which idea to do and how to make them happen quickly so we can get on to the next one!

Your mind: A User’s Guide
The next Scanners night is on Thursday 9 May – yes Thursday, a break from our usual Wednesday nights.
Our guest expert is Andy Gibson of Mindapples on “Your mind: a user’s guide”
Our minds are our most precious asset, but how much do we actually do to look after them, or get the best from them? If we can take care of our bodies by going to the gym, or eating an apple, what’s the equivalent for our minds?
Andy will give a light-hearted introduction to how our minds work and why we should all learn how to manage them and use them effectively.
From the hidden power of the subconscious to the science of wellbeing, Andy will be sharing some practical insights from neuroscience and psychology and exploring what we do to keep ourselves mentally effective in our life and work.
About Andy
Andy is an entrepreneur and consultant specialising in technology for social change.
He is founder of the education marketplace, School of Everything, runs the consultancy practice, Sociability, and created Mindapples.
Andy’s businesses have won awards from the Cabinet Office, the New Statesman and former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and in 2010 Wired Magazine named him the 78th most influential person in UK technology – although they changed their minds again the following year.
