What’s your archetype?

6:18 pm Making money, Scanner Nights

Creative people, particularly Scanners, tend to have a lot of different interests and run multiple projects simultaneously. This keeps life interesting but makes it difficult for us to easily capture what we do in a way that potential contacts, clients or customers can grasp.

At May Scanners Night, John Purkiss showed us how to pull the various strands together, using a simple model based on Jungian archetypes.

Are you the Caregiver, the Creator, the Explorer, the Hero, the Innocent, Jester, the Lover, the Magician, the Ordinary Guy, the Outlaw, the Ruler, or the Sage?

You can listen to his entire talk for free right now – just click the play button below.

Come to Scanners Night

Scanners Night is an event for creative people who love to learn new stuff, have many interests and get bored easily.

Scanners Night is on the 2nd Wednesday of every month and each one features a different speaker on a fascinating topic.

Gutted to have missed out on being there but have just listened to John’s talk online and loved it. As predicted, being a scanner, I’m finding it very hard to find a dominant one, but have managed to settle on 2; magician and sage, and i bring out the creator and ruler when appropriate/required. Creator is a bit miffed at not being in the gang. But I can only have 2 max and I don’t want to dilute the brand.

    ….

Actually, I think the creator is kicking the sage out…oh dear..this could go on all night..

So happy and grateful to find John P’s talk today via website posting. I was very disappointed to miss his talk live, but have just enjoyed listening to it on my laptop instead! Many thanks John. I’ve come out with Magician and Creator jostling for 1st place with Sage and maybe Innocent close by; I,m definitely a scanner! Can I really play to attract total abundance? Let’s try!

    Fascinating
sorry to have missed the evening but listened with great interest!

i now know why ,although i trained as a dietitian, i never really liked mixing with dietitians or even really working in a hospital, but do like giving out advice
I’m not an innocent but more of a sage
but can you be an outlaw ruler, cos i think i am!!

Hi Gaynor, I really get what you mean about the Sage. I think a lot of Scanners are like that – love learning the topic, not all that keen on then working with people using it.
